Synopsis
Eli Whittier was on his way to Pennsylvania to join the Quakers when his ship got in a storm and he ended up in Newfoundland. He has worked two years to bring over his fiance', while he has become the defacto town preacher. Unknown to him, his fiance' has married and sends in her place a mail-order bride.
